Kidderpore College, a government aided co-educational college, was founded in the year 1966 by the erstwhile Rector of Kidderpore Academy Sri Jitendranath Bandyopadhyay. Kidderpore Academy is a school adjacent to the present college building.
His vision was to open up the doors of higher education to the wards of the poor residents of the locality. He worked hard to apprise the local people. This college is affiliated to the University of Calcutta since its inception.
