The Women’s Forum had been instituted in the 2000s, and ever since its early days, it has been engaged in some of the most exemplary work. The Women’s Forum has accordingly held a number of workshops, seminars to raise awareness against various forms of exploitation and violence perpetrated against women in our society. Apart from this, the Women’s Forum has also undertakes a number of awareness programmes to sensitize people against the ignoble secondary position, often accorded to women in society.
It has worked in close alliance with the NGO SWAYAM, and is engaged largely with issues pertaining to women’s rights, and protest against their ignominious exploitation in the hands of our patriarchal society. The Women’s Forum has also been found to be a guardian figure, especially for the female students of the college who have interacted very candidly with this organization. Apart from SWAYAM, the Women’s Forum of Kidderpore College has also actively partnered with such other colleges as Lalbaba College, Harimohan Ghose College to host seminars on various issues related to women.
