Since 1966 Kidderpore College as an Arts & Commerce College under the University of Calcutta plays a vital role in the expansion of higher education. The vision of the college is to make the students self-reliant and inculcate a love of knowledge as well as co-curricular activities and provide holistic and inclusive education to the students coming from every stratum of society so that they can establish themselves as ideal responsible citizens. It is also the vision of the College to guide the students in the field of social responsibility.
Our mission is to move towards excellence in higher education. In order to achieve this the college coordinates the activities of the teachers, students and other staff members to ensure smooth functioning and all-round development of academic as well as other curricular activities. The mission of the college is also to ensure gender equality and make them self-reliant in the household, society and workplace. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the college, in consultation with the Principal, works to ensure standard and quality education. Different sub-committees under the convenorship of a teacher(s) assist the Principal to work for overall management of the various operations of the college, such as, admission, academic matters, conduct of examinations, promotion of research and extension activities, development of infrastructure-facilities, appointment of staff, leave and maintenance of service records, etc. The management mobilizes funds for upgradation of infrastructure, laboratory, library and office, along with creating environment friendly campus/premise.
The aim of the institution is to impart holistic education by implementing NEP along with the existing curriculum from 2023-24. To substantiate is the mentor- mentee practice which has continuously played a significant role in solving many a problems of the students. The institution organized seminars on NEP-2020 and also took initiative to participate the faculties in the other institution and Universities for the same.
The college practices a democratic and participatory method of governance with all stakeholders participating actively in its administration in accordance with the vision and mission statement of the college.
